Max Lamb: Shelter

Monday, July 5th, 2010

Max Lamb’s installation, Shelter, was produced for Johnson Trading Gallery. It was created by hand in Miami a few weeks ahead of the exhibition, using rudimentary tools as a way to carve out the shape. The shelter is meant to visitors a structure to hide and feel safe in as well as an insight into Max’s youth.

Swarovski Crystal Palace 2010

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

The Crystal Palace was a favorite amongst the Salone’s visitors this year.
It was a place to get inspired in the theatrics of light and crystal with the help of the designers who each created their own world inside a room.

Featuring works of Tokujin Yoshioka, Yves Behar, Gwenael Nicolas, Rogier van der Heide, Vincent van Duysen and some works from previous years.

Surface: a film from underneath

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

We don’t usually post video’s from other creators here on designguide.tv but I found this movie by TU+ to be such a great piece of work, that I couldn’t resist doing so anyway. Here’s the synopsis:

“What would the world be like from an underground perspective?”
SURFACE is an experimental film, exploring the emotional journey from an underground urban perspective. This ‘urban symphony’ transforms human actions and street objects into beats that harmoniously compose a grand audio and visual composition. The film emphasizes the ideas of ‘point of contact’, ‘human identity’ and notion of ‘live footprints’.
