ID stands for identity. Who are you and what kind of life do you lead? How do people reveal or conceal their identity? “The times we live in, in which your identity is so often reduced to ones and zeros, to information in a database, fascinates me”, Emily Hermans motivates the theme of her new collection. “On the so-called anonymous internet, people reveal more of their identity than they would IRL. In profiles, on forums, when purchasing products. But the internet also gives you the possibility to assume a different, or even several identities.”
